This panel discussion will review the clinical trial readiness of the FTD research world, including challenges and opportunities from recruitment, retention, and the availability of tools to enable efficient clinical trials. It will invite diverse perspectives from biopharma trial sponsors to people with lived experience with FTD, to non-profits, registry developers, and clinician scientists.
Bio:
Penny Dacks, Ph.D. is Senior Director of Scientific Initiatives at AFTD, overseeing initiatives to fund research, partner with related fields, convene scientific stakeholders, and empower an active, informed community of prospective research participants. Dr. Dacks serves as President of the FTD Disorders Registry, with responsibility for partnerships, sustainability, and overall success of the direct-to-participant Registry. Previously, Dr. Dacks worked at the American Epilepsy Society and the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation. She has authored over 35 scientific publications and trained in neuroscience at the University of Arizona and the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai.
